I've been working on adding more detail to the gold sections of the drawing. I finally found a good paper that adheres more carbon pencil on top of the gold, allowing for greater variation in the value structures in that region.

The largest drawing I've ever done. I'm not sure I can handle anything bigger, this size stretched my patience, I've been working on it for almost 2 months. I plan to make a number of smaller portraits in the next few months to balance my sanity.

Final Drawing of 2015! This time I decided to go with a white background. I'm not convinced that I like the look of white backgrounds, but at least on this one I saved 5 hours of scrubbing in a black background. Happy New Year!

Another still life with the gold leafing. I currently don't have any portraits / figures planned out at the moment. So I might do a few more still lives while I try and sketch out some new composition ideas.

This drawing took me much longer to complete than anticipated. The paper I was using happened to be a rougher version of Hot Pressed than normal. A great deal of time was spent filling in all of the tiny holes all over the drawing. It created a nice effect in many places to have the rougher paper showing through, but it took so long that next time I'll take better care to choose smoother paper in the art store.
