My first piece in my new studio. Now I just need to finish organizing the studio, clear a path on the floor, and finish unpacking all of my boxes. I suppose it's a good priority to work before I clean. Though, perhaps my wife would disagree.

Carbon Pencil and Pastel on Paper

Here is another figure drawing mixed with pastel that I have been doing lately. I plan to do many more of these in the future, but this will be the last for awhile due to the move. I have only 2 more commissions to post before a possible 2-3 month delay.

Materials used: Wolff's Carbon Pencil, Rembrandt Soft Pastel, Arches 300lbs Watercolor Paper (Hot Pressed).

My original plan for this drawing was to have green cloth. I realized, when I went to apply the color, that I didn't have any green other than neon or forest camouflage. I think that dark blue was a much better fit for this piece.

Materials used: Wolff's Carbon Pencil, Rembrandt Soft Pastel, Arches 300lbs Watercolor Paper (Hot Pressed).

This drawing has taken me far longer than it should have. The background, unchanged from the original design, was re-drawn about 6 times. I really need to spend more time practicing landscapes. I have a few more drawing commissions lined up, so more drawings coming in the near future.
